Audrey Mugisha is the Managing Director of Inspire Design Studio in her native Burundi, where she and her team have managed prestigious interior design and architecture projects ranging from highend residential to corporate and hospitality.
After graduating from law school, her 20-year business adventure has seen her successfully develop a hotel and resort brand, an events agency, a marketing company and a retail store, to name a few. She is married and has five children with her husband of 23 years.
Co-founder of Bujumbura Design Week, she believes that a deep understanding of concept and intention creates a distinct cultural design character. An ardent supporter of design, she is committed to promoting its recognition as an essential component of social growth and efficiency. She is actively involved in the creation of the Burundian Association of Interior Designers. She also works with local schools and institutions to promote interior design as a viable career option.
