Charrisse Johnston is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the African Institute of Interior Design Professions. With a background as a former Wall Street strategic planning executive turned designer, she has led interior design practices at global and regional architectural firms. As the former Chair of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and a licensed Professional Interior Architect, Charrisse brings extensive expertise to her role. She is a Certified Interior Designer recognized by the Council for Interior Design Qualification and the California Council for Interior Design Certification. Charrisse’s dedication to creating impactful spaces is evident in her publications and contributions to the field of interior design.

Esther Martin
Esther Martins is the Dean of the Built Environment Faculty at Inscape Education Group. She holds a Masters in Interior Architecture with research interests in meaning making, decolonising design and design education. Esther has a desire to see more designers and educators of colour represented within the interior design sphere and a particular passion in amplifying the voices of recent design graduates as they enter industry.
Ilse Prinsloo
Ilse Prinsloo is an interior architect, academic and researcher with more than 30 years of progressive experience in interior design. She is the Head of the Interior Design Department at the University of Johannesburg. Ilse has partnered with research communities and cultivated collaborations with professional interior design partners nationally and internationally.
Chris de Bod
“Christopher de Bod is the founder and Creative Director of Christopher de Bod Designs. He has been working in the interior design industry for more than a decade, working with corporate and residential clients across the country to bring their dream spaces to reality. The turnkey design firm allows clients to benefit from his total design ethos, which include interiors, bespoke and custom furniture, softs and other décor items.
Sadiyah Geyer
Sadiyah Geyer has built up over a decade of industry experience and is highly skilled in executing turnkey interior architecture and design projects, focusing on conceptual development, technical documentation, project management, and administration. She has a deep passion for working with people, designing to contribute to the enrichment of society, and creating spaces that provide maximum user comfort and efficiency with minimal impact on the environment.
